HOCHOETZ SKIING AREA
LIFTS
11 different mountain lifts are at your disposal:

SLOPES
At the Start of the Ötztal, invisible from the valley below, is the Hochoetz skiing area with a good 34 kilometres of slopes.
- 13 km easy ski runs (blue)
- 17 km intermediate ski runs (red)
- 4 km difficult ski runs (black)
It was only a few years ago that the wide slopes of the Balbachalm were developed and linked to the Hochoetz skiing area.
ADDITIONAL SNOW-MAKING SYSTEM
The ski area's snow-making facilities will be extended to the Brunnenkopf ski slope, guaranteeing perfect snow conditions throughout the season. Additional snow guns will also be installed on the former ski run down from the middle station ("Wiesberg") as the ski trail will be reactivated. Since the Wiesberg is a south-facing slope, top-to-bottom skiing was hardly possible during the winter season. This will be a further highlight for both locals and guests!
In the 2007/2008 winter season a total number of 25 snow-making devices are in operation within the Hochoetz Ski Region. 80% of the ski slopes are covered with snow guns. The costs for the extension of the snow-making system in the Brunnenkopf area and the former middle station amount to 1 million Euros.
FAMILIAR MANAGEABLE
The 4-kilometre valley descent to Ochsengarten leads trough deep forest snows and offers various descents in all degrees of difficulty, for beginners, advanced skiers and experts.
SKIZWERGERLN
There are particularly good conditions for our 'Skizwergerln' (very young skiers), who can be introduced to winter sports in a playful manner with free child ski courses in January and March. The best of child care is provided in the kindergarten directly alongside the Hochoetz panorama restaurant.
THE ACHERKOGELBAHN
The Acherkogelbahn, a modern 8-seat gondola cablecar, takes just eight minutes to reach the Hochoetz skiing area at more than 2,000 metres. Snow-making facilities, exceptional piste preparation and modern lift facilities ensure that snow and skiing conditions are perfect from December until well into April
OCHSENGARTEN GONDOLA
As a second feeder ski lift this 4-person gondola takes you from the idyllic winter sports resort of Ochsengarten right up to the Hochoetz Ski Area at the elevation of 2,000m. Perfectly groomed ski runs for all levels and abilities await you here! And after an exciting day on the slopes, you can enjoy doorstep skiing down to your cozy accommodation in Ochsengarten
